Deadly suicide bomb attack in Baghdad

A suicide car bomber has killed at least 15 people and wounded 21 others in an attack at a checkpoint near a police training academy in northeastern Baghdad.
Police and hospital sources said on Sunday that the explosion in the Iraqi capital set many cars ablaze, a source at the scene said.
The suicide bomber walked up to the main gate at the academy in a compound on Palestine street in east Baghdad, police sources said.
Baghdad and neighbouring areas have been plagued by a spate of suicide bomb attacks in recent weeks, often targeting the Shia commmunity and killing dozens at a time.
